Inspection - 1 Wheel Sensor System
DTC C1101, C1102, C1103, C1104, C1105, C1106, C1107, C1108 or C1115
First use CONSULT-II self-diagnosis results to determine positions of malfunctioning wheel sensors. Then inspect parts and determine which parts to replace.

1. STARTING INSPECTION

Perform self-diagnosis.

Is result of self-diagnosis OK?

OK >> Inspect is completed.
NG >> GO TO 2.

2. CHECKING CONNECTOR
Disconnect ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) connector E39 and connector E2, E16 or C6 of wheel sensor where malfunction was detected. Check for deformation of terminals and incomplete joining of connectors. Then reconnect connector. Also check that interference with other parts has not cut wheel sensor cables.
Drive vehicle at 30 km/h (19 MPH) or above for at least 1.0 minute.

Did ABS warning lamp turn OFF?

YES >> Inspection is completed.
NO >> GO TO 3.

3. CHECKING WHEEL SENSOR CIRCUIT

1. Disconnect ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) connector E39.
2. Disconnect wheel sensor connector E2, E16 and C6.
3. Check resistance between terminals. (Check resistance when steering wheel is turned right and left, and when sensor harness inside wheel house is moved.)

Resistance value
Power supply:............................0 - 0.5 Ohms
Signal return:............................0 - 0.5 Ohms
Control unit ground:.........................0 Ohms

Is inspection result OK?

OK >> GO TO 4.
NG >> Repair harness and connectors between ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) and wheel sensor.

4. TIRE INSPECTION
Check air pressure, wear, and size.

Are air pressure, wear, and size within standards?

YES >> GO TO 5.
NO >> Adjust air pressure or replace tire.

5. SENSOR ROTOR INSPECTION
Check for damage to sensor rotor teeth.

Is inspection result OK?

OK >> GO TO 6.
NG >> Replace sensor rotor.

6. POWER SUPPLY CHECK FOR ABS ACTUATOR AND ELECTRIC UNIT (CONTROL UNIT) SENSOR

1. Disconnect wheel sensor connectors.
2. Check voltage between wheel sensor harness connector E2 (FR RH) terminal 5 (P), E16 (FR LH) terminal 7 (R), C6 terminals 2 (PU) (RR RH), 9 (W) (RR LH) and body ground.

Voltage (V):.........................8V or more

OK or NG?

OK >> Replace wheel sensor.
NG >> Replace ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit).
