Tightening Torques & Sequence
Crankshaft Pulley Bolt 37.3-47.1 Nm (3.8-4.8 kg-m, 28-34 ft. lbs.)Main Bearing
Tighten lower cylinder block bolts in the numerical order as shown and according to the following steps:
a. Apply new engine oil to threads and seat surfaces of the bolts.
b. Tighten bolts No. 1 - 10 only in the order as shown, to specification below.
First tightening, bolts 1 - 10 only : 36.3 - 42.2 Nm (3.7 - 4.3 kg-m, 27 - 31 ft. lbs.)
c. Tighten bolts No. 1 - 10 only in the order as shown, to specification
CAUTION: Check tightening angle. Do not make judgment by visual inspection.
Tool number : KV10112100 (BT-8653-A)
Second tightening, bolts 1 - 10 only : 60° - 65° degrees rotation (target: 60° degrees)
d. Tighten bolts No. 11 - 22 only in the order as shown, to specification below.
Third tightening, bolts 11 - 22 only : 19.6 - 24.5 Nm (2.0 - 2.5 kg-m, 15 - 18 ft. lbs.)
^ Wipe off completely any protruding Silicone RTV Sealant on the exterior of engine.
^ Check crankshaft side clearance.
^ After installing the bolts, make sure that the crankshaft can be rotated smoothly by hand.
Connecting Rod Bolt
^ Tighten the connecting rod bolt as follows:
Apply engine oil to the threads and seats of the connecting rod bolts.
CAUTION: Check tightening angle. Do not make judgment by visual inspection.

Stage 1 : 18.6 - 20.6 Nm (1.9 - 2.1 kg-m, 14 - 15 ft. lbs.)
Stage 2 : Rotate bolts 85° - 95° degrees (target 90° degrees)
