VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN
2010 PATHFINDER BCM CONFIGURATION

INTRODUCTION

On certain specific model year 2010 Pathfinder vehicles, the Body Control Module (BCM) may have an incorrect configuration. Nissan is conducting this voluntary service campaign to properly configure the BCM at no charge for parts or labor.

IDENTIFICATION NUMBER

Nissan has assigned identification number PC056 to this campaign. This number must appear on all communications and documentation of any nature dealing with this campaign.

DEALER RESPONSIBILITY

Dealers are to correct each vehicle falling within the range of this campaign that enters the service department. This includes vehicles purchased from private parties or presented by transient (tourist) owners and vehicles in a dealer's inventory.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Connect CONSULT-III (C-III) to the vehicle.

2. Turn the ignition ON.

3. Open/start ASSIST on the C-III computer, then select CONSULT Utilities> CONSULT III.

4. Wait for the "Detecting VI/MI in progress" message to clear.





5. Select the detected VI from the list.

6. Select Connect

7. Wait for the "Checking the firmware version" message to clear.

8. Select Pathfinder and 2010.





9. Select Select

10. Make sure the correct vehicle is displayed on the confirmation screen.





11. Select Confirm.





12. Select Repair.





13. Select EL Repair.





14. Select BCM





15. Select BCM again.

^ You will need to scroll the selections to locate BCM.

16. Select OK





17. Make sure BCM is highlighted.

18. Select OK





19. Select Configuration





20. Select OK

^ It is OK to execute this function.

^ Perform only the changes indicated in the next steps.





21. Select WRITE CONFIGURATION - Manual settings.

22. Select Next





23. Click on the "menu arrow" for ASSIST LAMP TYPE and Select Mode 1.

NOTE:
It is likely that ASSIST LAMP TYPE was set to mode 2; it needs to be changed to mode 1.

24. Select SETTINGS





^ This will bring up the message / screen shown in Figure 13.

25. Select OK





26. Make sure MODE 1 is set for ASSIST LAMP TYPE.

27. Select OK to exit BCM configuration.

28. Turn OFF/close C-III.

29. Turn OFF the ignition and disconnect C-III from the vehicle.

30. Make sure the luggage room lamp is operating correctly.

a. Open the rear glass hatch.

b. Set the luggage lamp switch to the center (auto) position.

c. With the glass hatch open the luggage lamp should be ON.

d. Close the glass hatch; the luggage lamp should be OFF.
