DTC B1209 FRONTAL COLLISION DETECTION

Detects component damage resulting from a front collision, blinks or illuminates the air bag warning lamp to inform the driver. Malfunctioning part can be detected by the CONSULT.

OPERATION

The air bag and seat belt pre-tensioners for driver and front seat passenger are operated by the decision of the diagnosis sensor unit (ACU) out signal transmitted because of the frontal collision.

STRUCTURE

It consists of crash zone sensor, diagnosis sensor unit (ACU), air bags and seat belt pre-tensioners for driver and front passenger.

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE (With CONSULT)


1. INSPECTION START

Turn ignition switch ON.
- GO TO 2.

2. CHECK SELF-DIAG RESULT

Check the screen of CONSULT.
Is malfunctioning part detected?
YES- .
NO-INSPECTION END.


Diagnosis Procedure


WARNING:
- Before servicing, turn ignition switch OFF, disconnect battery negative terminal, and wait at least 3
minutes or more. (To discharge backup capacitor.)
- Never use unspecified tester or other measuring device.

1. PERFORM COLLISION DIAGNOSIS

Perform collision diagnosis.When SRS Is Activated In A Collision Except or When SRS Is Not Activated In A Collision Except.
Is collision diagnosis complete?
YES- GO TO 2.
NO- INSPECTION END

2. FINAL INSPECTION

Perform "AIR BAG" Self Diagnostic Result.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- INSPECTION END
NO- Perform diagnosis of applicable DTC.Testing and Inspection.
