DTC B1210 SIDE COLLISION DETECTION

Detects component damage resulting from a side collision, brinks or illuminates the air bag warning lamp to inform the driver. Malfunctioning part can be detected by the CONSULT.

OPERATION

The side air bag and curtain air bag are operated by the decision of the diagnosis sensor unit (ACU) signal of the side collision.

STRUCTURE

It consists of satellite sensor, diagnosis sensor unit (ACU), front side air bag and side curtain air bag.

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE (With CONSULT)


1. INSPECTION START

Turn ignition switch ON.
- GO TO 2.

2. CHECK SELF-DIAG RESULT

Check the screen of CONSULT.
Is malfunctioning part detected?
YES- .
NO-INSPECTION END.


Diagnosis Procedure


WARNING:
- Before servicing, turn ignition switch OFF, disconnect battery negative terminal, and wait at least 3
minutes or more. (To discharge backup capacitor.)
- Never use unspecified tester or other measuring device.

1. PERFORM COLLISION DIAGNOSIS

Perform collision diagnosis.When SRS Is Activated In A Collision Except or When SRS Is Not Activated In A Collision Except.
Is collision diagnosis complete?
YES- GO TO 2.
NO- INSPECTION END

2. FINAL INSPECTION

Perform "AIR BAG" Self Diagnostic Result.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- INSPECTION END
NO- Perform diagnosis of applicable DTC.Testing and Inspection.
