Circuit Operation

With the Headlamp and instrument panel lamp dimmer switch in HEAD or PARK and the fog lamp switch ON, battery voltage is supplied to the FOG LAMPS Relay coil through circuit 317. The coil is grounded through the high beam filaments through circuit 11. The relay energizes and applies voltage to the fog lamps through circuit 34. Since the coil of the FOG LAMPS relay is grounded through the high beam filaments, the relay will de-energize any time the high beams are on because voltage is applied to both sides of the relay coil. With the Headlamp and instrument panel lamp dimmer switch OFF, and in low light conditions, the Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) module will apply voltage through circuit 9 to the fog lamp switch and to the exterior lights.
