Code 12 indicates is detecting no reference pulse from the distributor.
- This is a normal condition with the ignition "ON" and engine OFF.
- Flashes only when fault is present--Code 12 is not stored in memory.
- Code 12 with the engine running could mean an open or ground in the distributor reference circuit.
Code 41 will appear with Code 12 if the engine is running with no distributor reference signal.
- If the problem clears, Code 41 will store.
