200-4R Automatic Transmission

1. Disconnect battery ground cable and remove air cleaner.

2. Disconnect throttle valve cable from carburetor.

3. Remove transmission oil level dipstick Remove upper bolt on dipstick tube.

4. Raise and support vehicle.

5. Mark driveshaft and companion flange for reference during installation, then remove driveshaft.

6. Disconnect speedometer cable and manual shift linkage from transmission.

7. Disconnect torque converter clutch solenoid electrical connector.

8. Remove flywheel under cover. Mark flywheel and converter for reference
during installation. Remove three flywheel to converter attaching bolts.

9. Remove catalytic converter support bracket bolts and the tunnel strap.

10. Remove transmission crossmember to transmission mount bolts. Remove transmission crossmember to frame bolts.

11. Support transmission with suitable jack, then move crossmember rearward.

12. Lower transmission slightly and disconnect throttle valve cable and oil cooler lines.

13. Support engine with suitable jack, then remove engine to transmission mounting bolts.

14. Lower jack and remove transmission from vehicle. Use caution not to drop torque converter as transmission is removed. Install suitable converter holding tool to secure converter.

15. Reverse procedure to install.
