Direct Clutch & Intermediate Overrun Roller Clutch
1. Lift direct clutch and intermediate overrun roller clutch assembly from input shaft and remove intermediate overrun clutch snap ring and retainer.
2. Remove overrun roller outer race.
3. Remove overrun roller clutch assembly.
4. Remove overrun inner cam only if replacement is required.
5. Remove thrust washer.
6. Intermediate roller clutch disassembled. Reverse disassembly procedure to assemble.
7. Remove direct clutch retaining ring, pressure plate and clutch pack.
8. Compress direct clutch piston return spring seat and remove retaining ring, return springs, piston and seals.
9. After replacing seals, install direct clutch piston into housing with the aid of a piece of .020 inch wire crimping into copper tubing.
10. Remove retaining ring, pressure plate and clutch pack. Clearance between top faced plate and pressure plate should be .010-.080 inches with retaining ring in place.
