Fourth Clutch

1. Check snap rings, fourth clutch piston, release spring and retainer assembly for damage.

2. Check compositioned-faced, flat steel clutch plates and backing plate for damage.

3. Install fourth clutch outer and inner oil seals onto center support with seal lips facing downward. Center support inner seal is identified by a white stripe.

4. Install fourth clutch piston into transmission case. Align piston tab with wide transmission case spline.

5. Install fourth clutch spring and retainer assembly onto piston.

6. Install and secure tool No. J29334-4 or equivalent onto transmission case housing using two governor cover to transmission case bolts.

7. Compress fourth clutch spring and retainer assembly and install fourth clutch snap ring onto support.
