Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

A nylon retainer is used to retain the rocker arm. To remove them, break them below their heads with a chisel, or pry out with channel locks, Fig. 4. Production rocker arms can be installed in any sequence since the arms are identical.
Replacement rocker arms for all engines are identified with a stamping, right (R) and left (L), Fig. 5 and must be installed as shown in Fig. 6.
To install rocker arms, position arm on rocker shaft, centering it over the 1/4 inch hole in the rocker shaft. Install new rocker arm retainers in the provided holes using a 1/2 inch or larger drift to seat them.
