Input Sun Gear

Inspection & Reassembly

1. Inspect input sun gear splines and teeth for damage or wear.

2. Inspect machined face for pitting, scoring or damage.





3. Install input sun gear face with identification mark (drill spot or groove), see image, against input drum to reaction sun gear snap ring.

4. Thoroughly clean, air dry and inspect input sun gear to input carrier thrust race and thrust bearing for pitted or rough conditions.

5. Install input sun gear to front carrier thrust bearing and race assembly with thrust bearing against the input sun gear.
