On some 1986 Toronado models built prior to March 1, 1986, a loose rear vertical door frame reveal molding may exist. To repair this condition, add additional tape to the molding for better adhesion using the following procedure.

Removal

1. Remove door trim panel as specified in Section 5 of the 1986 Body Service Manual.

2. Loosen glass front channel retainer as specified in Section 5 of the Body Service Manual.

3. Tilt door glass up and forward to gain access to rear screws of outer belt sealing strip and remove screws.

4. Carefully pull outer belt sealing strip outboard from body to gain clearance for removal of door frame rear vertical reveal molding.

5. Grasp rear vertical molding and slide molding downward until tab at top of molding clears upper reveal molding; then slide molding rearward to disengage rear of molding from door frame and remove molding.

Installation

1. Apply 3M Double-Coated Acrylic Foam Tape (R), part no. 06380, or equivalent to front and rear portion of molding on inboard side.
