A/T - THM 350C Third Gear Switch Shorting On Pan

TSB 85-26

SUBJECT: 350C

CAUTION
The use of an old style bottom pan onto a 350C transmission could result in shorting out the third gear switch. If the switch is shorted, one of the following will occur:

- Blowing the fuse to the converter clutch circuit as soon as the ignition is turned on, unless the brake pedal is depressed.

- Premature lock-up either as soon as drive is engaged, or when third gear is reached.

- Incorrect computer signal so that the computer would not know when the unit was in third gear. This could result in the engine running rough.

When exchanging bottom pans, always check the fit very closely.
