Converter Clutch Valve

Inspection & Installation

1. Inspect converter clutch valve and bushing for nicks or damage. Check valve for free movement in bushing.

2. Inspect converter clutch valve spring for distorted or collapsed coils.

3. Install converter clutch valve, short stem end first, into bushing.

4. Install the spring, then the valve and bushing into case. It may be necessary to turn the bushing to center the spring on the valve.

5. Install converter clutch valve and bushing assembly snap ring into case.
