Converter Endplay Measurement

1. Screw upper and lower knurled knobs of tool J-35138 together until they butt against each other. Ensure collet end of tool is not expanded.





2. Insert tool mentioned above into converter hub, see image, then turn upper wing nut clockwise while holding upper knurled knob. This will allow collet to expand.

3. Loosen wing nut (approximately 2 1/2 turns) until tool is loose enough to allow upward and downward movement, without allowing removal from converter hub.

4. While holding upper knurled knob, turn lower knob clockwise until tool is clamped onto hub.





5. Attach dial indicator holder J-26900-13 and dial indicator J-8OO1, until indicator tip contacts center of win nut as shown, see image.

6. Push upper knurled knob down, zero indicator, then pull lower knob upward and observe endplay on indicator.

7. Maximum allowable endplay should be .023.
