T.C.C. solenoids are designed to exhaust fluid when they are "off" (disengaged). When "energized" they close, so the fluid can build pressure and move the converter clutch valve. (See Figure 1).
If a T.C.C. solenoid fails to exhaust fluid when it is "off", the result may be a converter clutch application as soon as the transmission sends fluid to the solenoid.
The chart gives the T.C.C. fluid source on some transmissions.
