CUTLASS CIERA & CRUISER
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. On 1982---84 models proceed as follows:
a. Carefully insert a clean putty knife blade between the trim panel and left trim pad, then gently pry trim panel outward. Using same procedure, remove center trim cover.
b. Remove three screws in steering column trim collar and remove collar, then remove ash tray.
c. Remove six screws attaching trim pad to instrument panel, Fig. 10. Remove trim pad.
3. On 1985---88 models proceed as follows:
a. Pry steering column collar rearward, using a suitable tool, and remove.
b. Remove two outer ducts, then the two screws behind the ducts, Fig. 11.
c. Remove screw from behind steering column collar.
d. On models less console, open ash tray and remove two screws.
e. On models with console, remove two screws from ash tray cover and trim panel.
f. On all models, pull trim plate rearward to release clips, then remove trim plate.
4. On all models, remove screws attaching cluster trim cover to instrument panel, then remove cover.
5. Disconnect speedometer cable at transmission or cruise control transducer (if equipped).
6. Remove steering column trim cover.
7. Disconnect shift indicator clip from steering column shift bowl.
8. Remove 4 screws attaching cluster assembly to instrument panel.
9. Pull assembly out far enough to reach behind cluster and disconnect speedometer cable.
10. Remove cluster assembly.
11. Reverse procedure to install.
