Installation


1. Position rear head on suitable work surface with control valve at 6 o'clock position.
2. Assemble guide pins into mounting holes at 5 and 11 o'clock positions.
3. Install new head gasket over guide pins with elongated hole at 11 o'clock position.
4. Assemble rear valve plate over guide pins with elongated hole at 11 o'clock position.
5. Assemble suction reed plate over guide pins with elongated hole at 11 o'clock position, then remove guide pin from 5 o'clock position.
6. Lubricate new cylinder to rear head O-ring with refrigerant oil, then install O-ring in groove in cylinder assembly.
7. Lubricate O-ring groove in cylinder head, locate relief boss for compressor guide pin at 6 o'clock, directly above hole in the side of rear head, then lower cylinder and front head assembly onto rear cylinder head assembly.
8. Press cylinder assembly down onto rear cylinder head with both hands to ensure that O-ring is fully seated.
9. Install new gaskets on through bolts then install through bolts hand tight.
10. Remove guide pins, then evenly torque through bolts to 72-84 inch lbs. in an alternating pattern.
11. Replace shaft seal assembly as outlined.
12. Add the same quantity of new refrigerant oil to compressor as was measured in step 1 of removal procedure.
13. Ensure that compressor rotates freely, then reinstall clutch components removed previously.
14. Install compressor, evacuate and recharge system and check for leaks.
