Fuel Pump: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain fuel tank and disconnect tank unit wire from connector in rear compartment.
3. Remove ground wire retaining screw from underbody.
4. Disconnect hoses from tank unit.
5. Support fuel tank and release the two retaining straps. Lower tank from vehicle.
6. Using tool J-24187 or equivalent, release retaining cam and remove sending unit and pump assembly from tank.
7. Remove pump from sending unit.
8. Reverse procedure to install.
