Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Brake Fluid: Service and Repair

Fig. 1 Fluid Level Inspection:

1. Inspect the reservoir fluid level. It should be below the highest mark on the front of the reservoir. Remove excess fluid, if necessary.
2. Depressurize the hydraulic accumulator.
3. Inspect the reservoir fluid level (Figure 1). It should be at the "full" mark. Add or remove fluid, if necessary.
4. Turn the ignition switch to the "run" position.
5. Allow the pump to charge the hydraulic accumulator.
Do not allow the pump to run longer than 60 seconds. Allow the pump to cool for several minutes between 60-second runs.
