Cylinder Head Bolts

Fig. 7 Cylinder Head & Camshaft Carrier Bolt Tightening Sequence:

In the sequence given (refer to figure 7), tighten each bolt a little at a time, as follows:

^ Torque bolts 18 ft. lbs.
^ Tighten bolts an additional 60°
^ Tighten bolts an additional 60°
^ Tighten bolts an additional 60°

After completion, start engine and let engine idle until thermostat opens. Turn engine off and torque all bolts as follows:

^ Tighten an additional 30 to 50°
