Connecting Rod: Service and Repair

Assemble piston to rod with arrow on piston toward front of engine and oil squirt hole on rod toward exhaust side of engine, Fig. 23.
Upon installation, measure connecting rod side clearance using a suitable feeler gauge. Connecting rod side clearance should be .0059 to .0177 inch.
