Power Brake Unit
1. After disassembling a power brake unit, soak all metal parts in solvent.
2. Use only alcohol on parts containing rubber. After the parts have been thoroughly cleaned and rinsed in solvent, they should be rewashed in clean alcohol before assembly.
3. Use an compressed air to blow dirt and cleaning fluid from the recesses and internal passages.
4. Always use all the parts furnished in the repair kit.
5. Use extreme caution when disassembling power assist mechanisms, as suddenly releasing internal spring tension could cause damage or personal injury.
6. On models with hydro-boost assist systems, do not disassemble the accumulator. If the accumulator is damaged or diagnosed as defective, it must be replaced as an assembly.
