Radiator Cooling Fan Motor Relay: Description and Operation

Wiring Diagram:

The electric cooling fans operate when the ECM grounds the cooling fan relay(s) winding. The relays then close and complete the circuit between the 40 amp maxi-fuse and the fan motor.

The ECM determines the operation of the fan based on A/C head pressure, engine coolant temperature, vehicle speed and A/C request signal inputs.
