CONDITION:
Some owners may comment on a low speed ABS cycling and a squawk from the rear brakes when coming to a complete stop. If this condition exists, some vehicles may exhibit chafed or cracked brake linings.
CAUSE:
Heavy duty brake cycling may create added heat which could result in some deterioration of the brake linings. This deterioration may polish the drums and increase the symptoms of this condition.
CORRECTION:
Vehicles that experience any or all of the above conditions should replace the rear brake linings with current production P/N 12321412, service brake lining. Also, the rear drums will need to be replaced with P/N 18020612 which has been released for 1994 and 1995 current production.
Parts are currently available from GMSPO.
