Chart A-3 Part 2 Of 2:

Wiring Diagram Chart A-3:

***UPDATED BY TSB # 92-U-23 DATED MARCH 1992

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION:

This chart assumes that battery condition and engine cranking speed are OK, and there is adequate fuel in the tank.

TEST DESCRIPTION: Numbers below refer to circled numbers on the diagnostic chart.

1. This check simulates a reference pulse to the ECM. The ECM should cycle the injectors with each touch of terminal "C".

2. This check is to verify that the dual crank sensor has power and a ground that are both supplied by the ignition module.

3. This test will test the C3I module's ability to process the simulated signal from the dual crank sensor.

4. This will check for a short to voltage on the injector circuits and for a faulty ECM.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS:

INTERMITTENTS:

^ Poor connection at the C3I module, dual crank sensor, or the ECM could cause a starting problem. Also, check ignition module bracket for loose or corroded mounting bolts.
