SUBJECT:
UNDETECTABLE CAUSE OF LOSS OF ENGINE COOLANT
(REPLACE SURGE TANK CAP)

MODELS:
1992-94 BUICK SKYLARK
1992-94 CHEVROLET CORSICA AND BERETTA
1992-94 OLDSMOBILE ACHIEVA
1992-94 PONTIAC GRAND AM

CONDITION:

Some owners may comment about loss of engine coolant.

CAUSE:

In some instances, the engine coolant surge tank cap may allow engine coolant to evaporate out past the seal.

CORRECTION:

Follow cooling system diagnosis as outlined in Section 6B of the Service Manual. If no other system leaks are located, replace current surge tank cap with new cap, P/N 10244485. Follow procedures outlined in Section 6B in the appropriate Service Manual.

NOTE:
This is a pressurized cap. Be sure to note caution advisory in Service Manual.
