4 X 2 MODELS
1. Raise vehicle and support the lower control arms with floor stands.
2. Remove wheel and tire assembly.
3. Disconnect upper ball joint from from steering knuckle and support the brake rotor to prevent damage to the brake hose.
4. Remove upper control arm attaching nuts and bolts, Fig. 2. noting location of any shims removed.
5. Remove upper control arm.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install shims in their original position.
b. Torque control arm pivot nuts to specification.

4 X 4 MODELS
1. Raise vehicle and support at frame, raise lower control arm to relieve spring tension, placing jack as far outboard on lower control arm as possible.
2. Remove front wheel.
3. Remove and install control arm as shown in Fig. 3, supporting spindle to prevent damaging brake hoses.
