Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Shipping Billing and Upgrade Program Information

GM spent a considerable amount of time developing this tool for its dealers. We took the existing Micro 400 and worked with Midtronics and Kent-Moore to enhance the diagnostics of the tool. Many new and important features have been added.

GM does not wish to penalize dealers who have already embraced this new battery testing technology and purchased a Micro 400. Therefore, we have negotiated a special one-time only, no charge upgrade for dealers who have purchased these units through either Kent-Moore or GM Dealer Equipment.

Each dealer will be shipped the J 42000 Micro 410 and billed $200.00 for the tool. A significant portion of the tool cost is being absorbed by GM. The tool will retail on the market for over $700.00.

Kent-Moore will send letters with instructions for the upgrade program to each dealer of record that has purchased a Micro 400. This letter will be sent within 30 days of completion of the essential tool shipments (approx. June, 1998). The program will run for 60 days to allow sufficient time for return. Dealers must RETAIN their essential tool (the J 42000) in order to be eligible for the upgrade. Any dealer that requests a return of the J 42000 will automatically become ineligible for the exchange. The exchange program is being handled at the end of the essential shipments in order to insure sufficient inventory is available for the upgrades. Upgrade letters will only be sent to dealers who have purchased Micro 400's from Kent-Moore or GM Dealer Equipment.
