This automatic transaxle consists primarily of a 3 element torque converter, Fig. 2, compound planetary gear set and dual sprockets, drive link assembly and a pressure plate and damper assembly. A differential and final drive gear set is also incorporated in the transaxle case. Three multiple disc clutches, a roller clutch and a band provide the friction elements required to obtain the desired functions of the planetary gear set. Hydraulic pressure required to operate the friction elements and automatic control is provided by a vane type pump.
