Lower Intake Manifold

Fig. 4 Lower Intake Manifold Assembly:

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Relieve fuel system pressure, refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction / Fuel Pressure Relief
2. Battery ground cable.
3. Upper intake manifold and fuel rail.
5. Radiator hose from thermostat housing.
6. Temperature sensor electrical connector.
7. Heater pipe nut at throttle body.
8. Lower intake manifold mounting bolts, then the manifold and gaskets.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Gaskets and then the intake manifold.

NOTE: Use the vertical installation holes in the intake manifold to align the intake bolt grommet bores with the threaded holes in the cylinder heads. This will minimize the possibility of cross-threading and/or damage to the grommets which could result in leaking intake manifold gaskets.

2. Intake manifold mounting bolts, insert rubber isolators fully into manifold flange before tightening any fasteners.
3. Draw manifold in place by tightening bolts gradually, starting with the middle bolts and working in a circular pattern. Do Not tighten one side or one end fully. Tighten bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
4. Heater hose pipe nut at throttle body.
5. Electrical connection at temperature sensor.
6. Radiator hose to thermostat housing.
7. Fuel rail and upper intake manifold.
