Throttle Body: Service and Repair

Throttle Body:

REMOVAL:

1. Remove the intake duct.
2. Partially drain the radiator coolant.
3. Disconnect the throttle, transmission control (TV), and cruise cables.
4. Remove the throttle cable bracket.
5. Disconnect the IAC, TPS, and MAF sensor electrical connectors.
6. Remove the nuts holding the throttle body to the intake manifold.
7. Remove the throttle body assembly.
8. Clean the gasket surface on the intake manifold and the throttle body.

INSTALLATION:

1. Install a new flange gasket.
2. Install the throttle body assembly.
3. Install the throttle body retaining nuts, and tighten to 15 Nm (11 lb.ft).
4. Install the throttle cable bracket.
5. Connect the throttle, TV and cruise cables.
6. Connect the IAC, TPS, and MAF sensor electrical connectors.
7. Install the air inlet duct.
8. Refill the radiator to replace lost coolant.
