Disable the Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system as described in MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING prior to working on or near the steering column. After completion of repairs, rearm airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.

Except 98 & 88
1. Remove center and lower trim plates.
2. Remove four radio retaining screws, then slide radio rearward and disconnect electrical connectors and antenna lead.
3. Remove radio, Fig. 35.
4. Reverse procedure to install.

98 & 88
1. Remove instrument cluster trim plate as described in INSTRUMENT PANELS AND CLUSTERS/COMPONENT REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR PROCEDURES/INSTRUMENT CLUSTER.
2. Remove five radio to instrument panel attaching screws.
3. Pulling radio rearward, disconnect electrical connectors and antenna.
4. Remove radio mounting brackets.
5. Reverse procedure to install.
