Hard to Start
Definition: Engine cranks OK, but does not start for a long time. Does eventually run, or start but immediately dies.
POSSIBLE CAUSE ACTION
Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) ^ Check for binding or incorrect TPS signal voltage with the throttle closed.
Low Fuel Pressure ^ Check fuel pump, fuel pump relay, fuel filter, and pressure regulator
Contaminated Fuel ^ Check fuel filters.
Excessive alcohol content ^ Alcohol/Contaminants-In-Fuel Testing Procedure
Fuel injectors ^ Check fuses and fuel injectors.
