Blower Motor: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then discharge A/C system and drain engine coolant.
2. Remove rear seats as follows:
a. Remove plate hole plugs, Fig. 23.
b. Pull up seatback latch lever and fold seat back forward onto seat cushion.
c. Pull up on rear latch release strap to release latching bar clamping rear of seat assembly to rear seat anchors.
d. Pivot rear of seat assembly upward and toward front of vehicle.
e. Pull upward on front latching bar and disconnect seat riser frame from front seat anchors.
f. Remove seat assembly.
3. Remove seat belt retaining bolts from center pillar and body lock pillar panels.
4. Remove quarter upper trim finishing panel, then the rear wheelhouse trim finishing panel.
5. Remove body lock pillar trim panel screws and panel.
6. Remove rear blower switch assembly from center pillar/quarter lower trim finishing panel.
7. Disconnect electrical connector from blower switch.
8. Remove screw and rosebud clip at front of rear wheelhouse lower trim.
9. Loosen one screw on ``B'' pillar duct, then remove beltline horizontal duct screws and duct.
10. Disconnect evaporator inlet and outlet fittings at module.
11. Remove heater inlet and outlet quick disconnect fittings at module.
12. Remove module retaining screws, Fig. 24.
13. Disconnect electrical connector from top of module, then the connector from the blower motor.
14. Disconnect vacuum line from vacuum actuator.
15. Remove drain hose from bottom of actuator, then the module from the vehicle.
16. Reverse procedure to install.
