Engine Installation
INSTALL OR CONNECT1. Engine from stand.
2. Engine to transaxle/frame assembly.
3. Engine to transaxle retaining bolts and stud.
- Tighten Bolts and stud to 75 Nm (55 lbs.ft.).
4. Engine to transaxle brace and retaining bolts.
- Tighten Engine side bolts to 95 Nm (70 lbs.ft.).
- Transaxle side bolts 50 Nm (37 lbs.ft.).
5. Transaxle indicator tube assembly and bolt.
- Tighten Indicator tube retaining bolt 19 Nm (14 lbs.ft.).
6. Power steering pump to engine.
- Tighten Power steering pump bolts 27 Nm (20 lbs.ft.).
7. Position engine/transaxle/frame assembly under vehicle.
8. Lower vehicle to engine/transaxle/frame assembly.
9. New frame to body retaining bolts.
- Tighten Frame retaining bolts 140 Nm (103 lbs.ft.).
10. Raise vehicle and suitably support.
11. Transaxle cooler lines.
12. Front exhaust pipe to exhaust manifold, springs and bolts.
13. LH and RH axles into transaxle.
14. LH and RH ball joints to knuckles, retaining bolts.
- Tighten Ball joint bolt to N.m ( lb.ft.)
15. LH and RH tie rod ends to knuckles, nuts and cotter pins.
- Tighten Tie rod end nut to Nm (lb.ft.)
16. Intermediate shaft to rack assembly, retaining pinch bolt.
- Tighten Pinch bolt to N.m ( lb.ft.) Refer to
17. Torque converter bolts to flywheel.
- Tighten Converter to flywheel bolts to 62 Nm (46 lbs.ft.).
18. Starter assembly to engine.
19. Flywheel covers to transaxle and engine, retaining bolts.
- Tighten Flywheel cover bolts to 10 Nm (7 lbs.ft.).
20. Electrical wiring to starter assembly.
21. Engine wiring harness and retainers to frame.
22. Both tire and wheel assemblies.
23. Lower vehicle.
24. A/C manifold to A/C compressor and retaining bolt.
25. Fuel feed and return lines to fuel rail.
26. Heater inlet and outlet pipes and hoses to engine.
27. Radiator inlet and outlet hoses to engine from radiator.
28. Engine mount strut bolt and nut to engine.
- Tighten Engine mount strut bolts and nut to 57 Nm (42 lbs.ft.).
29. Vacuum hose from engine to brake booster.
30. Accel and cruise bracket/heat shield to transaxle and cables to bracket.
- Tighten cable bracket bolts to 27 Nm (20 lbs.ft.).
31. Engine fuel vapor harness for engine.
32. Electrical connectors at A/C compressor and accumulator
33. Accel and cruise cable bracket at throttle body.
34. Multi-use relay bracket and screws to tie bar.
35. Engine electrical block connector at RH side of engine.
36. Battery cable ground at engine block.
37. Electrical connector to cooling fan.
38. Electrical wring harness retainer at RH side of engine.
39. Electrical connector at emergency jumper block.
40. Electrical connector at cruise servo.
41. Engine electrical at LH side of engine.
42. Fill engine oil.
43. Fill cooling system.
44. Recharge A/C system.
