Fluid Level Checking Procedure
The transaxle oil level should be approximately 1/2 inch above the "FULL" mark at standing temperature (65°-85°F), or between the two dimples on the dipstick. The oil level at normal vehicle operating temperature (190°-200°F) should be between the "ADD" and" FULL" marks. Vehicle must be driven a minimum of 15 minutes to allow transaxle oil to reach normal operating temperature. To bring oil level from ADD mark to FULL mark requires approximately one pint of fluid. Check oil level with vehicle on level surface, parking brake applied, engine idling at operating temperature and transaxle in Park.
When adding fluid, do not over fill, as foaming and loss of fluid through vent may occur as fluid heats up. Also, if fluid level is too low, complete loss of drive may occur especially when cold, which can cause transaxle failure.
