Test D: Fuel Gage Is Inaccurate

Disconnect connector C409 and connect one red lead of tester J33431 to the PPL (30) wire and the other to ground. Turn the Ignition Switch to RUN. Set the resistance dials of the tester to 0 ohms and then to 90 ohms. The Fuel Gage should indicate E and then F. (Fuel Gage does not respond instantaneously due to anti-slosh device.)
^ If the Fuel Gage responds correctly, replace the Fuel Gage Sender and its wires.
^ If the Fuel Gage does not respond correctly, check PPL (30) wire to the Instrument Cluster for faulty wiring. If OK, replace the Instrument Cluster.
