Condition:

Some 1990-94 U-vans and "A and W" cars with engines indicated (see illustration), may exhibit a squeak noise coming from the front of the vehicle. This condition is most evident during a "garage shift" maneuver, but may occur during any maneuver or action that results in a vehicle rocking motion such as entering or exiting a vehicle.

Cause:
Movement between the exhaust seal and the exhaust manifold and/or the exhaust pipe generates a noise condition.

Correction:

Install Dampack Dampers, P/N 10218583 (two required) and washers, P/N 2441143 (two required) in place of the existing exhaust manifold pipe springs as shown in the illustration.
