Intake Manifold Tightening Sequence:






REMOVE
1. Raise hood and cover fenders.
2. De-pressurize and disconnect fuel pipes from fuel rail.
3. Negative battery cable.
4. Drain coolant.
5. Accessory drive belt.
6. Generator and braces.
7. Power steering pump braces.
8. Coolant bypass hose.
9. Heater pipe.
10. Upper radiator hose.
11. Air inlet duct.
12. Throttle cable bracket and cables from throttle body.
13. Vacuum hoses from intake manifold.
14. Electrical connections.
15. Fuel rail.
16. Vapor canister purge line.
17. Heater hose from throttle body.
18. Rear spark plug wires.
19. Intake manifold bolts and intake manifold.

INSTALL
1. To complete installation, observe the following assembly tips and reverse the removal procedures.
^ Clean the cylinder block, heads and intake manifold sealing surface of ALL oil with a suitable solvent.
^ Clean the intake manifold bolts and bolt holes of adhesive compound.
^ Apply sealer GM P/N 12345336 or RTV equivalent to the ends of the manifold seals.
^ Apply thread lock compound GM P/N 12345493 to the intake manifold bolt threads before assembly.
^ Tighten the intake manifold bolts TWICE to 10 Nm (89 in lb).
^ Lubricate throttle body coolant and heater pipe O-ring seals with antifreeze before assembly.
