DTC 22 or 33 on ABS System May be Set (Replace Wires, Add Shield)

This bulletin is being revised to change the "Correction" statement. Please discard Bulletin 43-50-12 (Group Reference 5 - Brakes).
CONDITION
The customer may comment that the ABS warning light is on. Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 22 or 33 may be set for the ABS.
CAUSE
Occasionally, the ABS wire harness for the right front wheel may rub on the brake line in the area shown in the illustration. To prevent this from happening in the future, a plastic shield was added in production near the end of the 1994 model year.
CORRECTION
If the wiring is damaged, it must be replaced. DO NOT attempt to repair these wires. Add shield, P/N 10269730, as shown in the illustration. Secure with plastic retainer, P/N 20664092. Push the retainer fully into the shield, and hold firmly in place, then tap the end of the retainer to fully seat the plunger.
