Test N: Coolant Temperature Gage Test
Disconnect the Coolant Temperature Sender connector. Connect one red clip lead of the J-33431 tester to the harness terminal B, (YEL), and the other red clip lead to terminal A (BLK). Adjust the resistance dials of the tester to 1365 ohms and then to 44 ohms. The Coolant Temperature Gage should indicate C and then H.^ If the Gage indicates correctly, the wiring and Gage are good. Check all connectors for proper terminal contact. If OK, replace the Digital Engine Coolant Temperature Sender.
^ If the Gage does not indicate correctly, check the Gage connections and DK GRN (635) and YEL (510) BLK (552) wires for an open, high resistance (2 or more ohms) or a short to ground. Check all connections for proper terminal contact. If they are OK, replace the Instrument Cluster.
