PROPER HOOKUP OF TECH 1 SCAN TOOL

MODELS
1992-94 BUICK LESABRE AND PARK AVENUE
1992-94 OLDSMOBILE EIGHTY EIGHT AND NINETY EIGHT
1992-94 PONTIAC BONNEVILLE

The condition exists for possible interference of the Tech 1 with the brake pedal when hooking up to the Data Link Connector.

The Tech 1 connector may extend down in front of the brake pedal.

The following steps should be taken for proper Tech 1 hookup:

1. Remove two (2) push-type retainers holding [1][2]DLC into left-hand sound insulator.

2. Remove [1][2]DLC and gently pull extra slack in harness through connector opening.

3. Plug Tech 1 (using 12/16 pin adapter for 1994 models) into [1][2]DLC.

4. Reroute Tech 1 cable around park brake pedal lever two times (making sure to remove slack in cable).

5. Reinstall [1][2]DLC in sound insulator after using Tech 1.
