Illuminated Entry and Security Lighting
When Remote Keyless Entry is activated, or either front door handle is operated, terminal C1/K of the Remote Accessory Control (RAC) Module is grounded. This signals the RAC Module to turn on its output at C1/J, ground the coil of the Interior Lights Relay, and energize the Relay. With the Relay energized, its contacts close to provide a ground path for the interior courtesy lights. The interior lights turn on. If any door is left open, the interior lights remain on for approximately 10 minutes. If all doors are closed before the 10 minutes expires, the RAC Module senses that ground is removed from terminal C1/C. This initiates a timing cycle that keeps the interior lights on for an additional 25 seconds. If the Ignition Switch is turned to RUN before the 25 seconds expires, the RAC Module senses battery voltage at terminal C1/B and turns off the interior lights.
