Ignition Lock Cylinder & Upper Column Components

SHAFT LOCK, TURN SIGNAL CANCEL CAM, UPPER BEARING SPRING & SEAT, INNER RACE, TURN SIGNAL SWITCH, ALARM & LOCK CYLINDER SET

DISASSEMBLE
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Gently pull up on horn pad to remove.
3. Disconnect horn lead by gently pushing down on lead and turning to the left, spring will then come out of cancelling cam tower.
4. Remove retainer, nut and steering wheel.
5. Remove shaft lock retaining ring using compressor tool No. J-23653-C, or equivalent, to depress shaft lock.
6. Remove shaft lock, turn signal cancelling cam, upper bearing spring and thrust washer.
7. Move turn signal to the right turn position.
8. Remove multi-function lever, screw and switch actuator arm.
9. Remove screws, hazard knob assembly and turn signal switch.
10. Remove wiring protector and gently pull harness through gearshift lever bowl, gearshift lever bowl shroud and lock cover assembly housing.
11. Remove key from lock cylinder and alarm assembly and clip.
12. Install key and turn to the Lock position, remove lock retaining screw, then lock cylinder set.

ASSEMBLE
1. Install lock cylinder set and retaining screw. Torque to 30 lb in
2. Install key and turn to the Run position.
3. Install alarm assembly and clip.
4. Install turn signal switch harness through lock housing cover assembly, gearshift lever bowl and gearshift bowl shroud and connect.
5. Install turn signal switch and screws. Torque to 35 lb in
6. Install wiring protector, switch actuator arm and screw. Torque to 20 lb in
7. Install hazard knob assembly, multi-function lever, thrust washer, upper bearing spring and turn signal cancelling cam.
8. Install shaft lock and shaft lock retaining ring using compressor tool No. J-23653-C, or equivalent, to depress shaft lock.
9. Install steering wheel and nut. Torque to 30 lb ft
10. Install horn lead and pad, then connect battery ground cable.
