General Description

Remote keyless entry is a feature which allows for operation of the door locks, illuminated entry lighting (if equipped), and luggage compartment lid release from outside the vehicle.

The two main system components are the transmitter (two per vehicle) and the remote accessory control (RAC) module. The transmitter unit sends a digitally encoded radio signal to the RAC module in response to a button on the transmitter being pressed by the vehicle operator. The RAC module interprets the signal and activates the required circuitry to provide the requested function.
