System Description

The remote keyless entry feature allows the doors to be locked and unlocked and the luggage compartment lid to be released from up to 10 meters (32 feet) away from the vehicle. To unlock the driver's door, press the UNLOCK button on the transmitter once. To unlock all of the doors, press the UNLOCK button on the transmitter twice within 25 seconds. To lock all the doors, press the LOCK button on the transmitter. The luggage compartment lid can be opened by pressing the TRUNK button. Pressing any button on the transmitter automatically triggers the illuminated entry feature. If ignition is "OFF".

Remote Accessory Control (RAC) Module

The RAC module performs the illuminated entry, retained accessory power, and remote keyless entry features. The RAC module can communicate on the serial data line (SDL). The RAC module SDL can transmit all input and output states and control every output. The SDL can place the RAC module in the program mode.

Luggage Compartment Lid Release

The luggage compartment lid release relay is energized whenever the transmitter's TRUNK button is pushed by having its output grounded through the RAC Module via terminal C2/J. With the relay energized, its contacts close to apply voltage to the luggage compartment lid release actuator, causing the luggage compartment lid latch to release.

LH Front Door Isolation Relay

The relay, when energized, isolates the driver's door lock motor from the other three motors. When the UNLOCK button on the transmitter is pressed, the RAC Module turns on its output at C2/G. This grounds the relay coil, energizing the relay and opening the normally closed contacts. This opens the circuit to the RH front and rear door lock motors.

Door Lock Relay Assembly

When this relay is energized on terminal A, the vehicle doors lock. When energized on terminal F, the vehicle doors unlock. The relay assembly can be energized by either the front door lock switches or the door lock/unlock outputs of the RAC module.
