Troubleshooting Hints - Interior Lights

TRY FOLLOWING CHECKS BEFORE DOING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS:
1. If vehicle is equipped with Illuminated Entry, Refer to Illuminated Entry for diagnosis. Courtesy Lamp
2. If courtesy lamps and luggage compartment lamp do not light, check I/P Fuse Block Fuse 6A.
3. If only one interior lamp does not operate, check bulb, socket and related wiring.
4. If only one door does not operate interior lamps, check suspect Door Lock Latch Assembly and related wiring for an open (see schematic).
5. If interior lamps light when a door is opened, but do not when Panel/Interior Lamp Control is operated, check WHT (156) and BLK (1250) wiring for an open; check panel/interior lamp control connector for proper terminal contact; if all OK, replace Panel/Interior Lamp Control (see schematic).
6. If a Cigar Lighter does not operate, check for corrosion or element damage. Check for voltage at socket with a test lamp. If test lamp lights, replace Cigar Lighter; if not, check I/P Fuse Block Fuse 9A.
7. If interior lamps do not turn "OFF", check for a shorted Door Latch/Lock Switch of Panel/Interior Lamp Control Switch; check WHT (156) wiring for a short to ground (see schematic).
