Cruise Control Servo: Description and Operation
Cruise System Circuit:
Purpose:
The PCM controlled cruise control system is designed to monitor itself to be sure that the desired cruise position and actual cruise position are equal to each other.
Operation:
The PCM applies 5 volts to the Servo Position Sensor (SPS) and receives a returned frequency from the servo. Depending on the actual servo position, the AC frequency will vary indicating the position of the servo blade. The PCM uses this information to control the servo position when cruise is engaged.
Location:
The SPS is located on the right side of the left wheel housing.
